ELECTRICITY AND WATER

Each landowner is responsible for providing water and electricity to their property.
Water is usually collected via rainwater tanks and dams. Electricity is produced by a combination
of diesel generators or sustainable technologies like solar panels and wind turbines.

TELEPHONE AND INTERNET
|
Telephone services to the island are provided via a microwave link. To connect the telephone, contact
Telstra. There is a public telephone in front of the French Island General Store.
For Internet connections, talk to your neighbours about which service is most appropriate for your circumstances and location.

MAIL
|
Mail can be collected from the French Island General Store which is also the Post Office.
Alternativley, you can organise with the store to have mail delivered on specific days. There is a mail box in front of the store.

GAS
|
The
French Island General Store
is the registered Elgas Agent for French Island and supplies the Island with 45kg exchange
gas cylinders and provides a refill service of 9kg swap and go/BBQ bottles. Other LPG refills
are also available for a range of varying bottle sizes, if you need a bottle delivered or
filled enquire at the Store 5980 1209.
